More growing things

Here are some pictures of our backyard. The burning bush was a volunteer in the front yard when Dan was 11. He dug it up and planted it in the back. The evergreen to its left was about 3 inches tall and growing under a tree when grandpa transplanted it. It is now about 10 feet high. The oak tree in the second picture planted itself and grew from an acorn. It is now a beautiful, big tree.
If you look at my posting from last summer with pictures of the house in which I grew up, you can see on the left of the front walk the trunk of an oak tree that started as a volunteer and that my father transplanted. He always called it "the little oak tree" but of course it is now a very big oak tree. You can't see the top in the pictures because it is so tall.

How things grow!

The yew bushes in front of our house keep getting bigger and bigger. We had them trimmed last week so that they look neater than before, but still, they are very tall.
Here are two pictures. The first one was taken when we first lived in our house. The little boy on the stairs is Joel. The second picture was taken last week. Joel isn't here to be in the picture, but he has grown a lot too.
